The fasting hours are calculated from dusk until dawn of each day for the whole of the month of Ramadan. Thus, Ramadan will take place from the 23rd March to the 21th of April 2023. The Islamic calendar is based on the lunar year therefore, it is ten days shorter than the Gregorian solar calendar. During the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, observing Muslims worldwide abstain from eating, drinking, smoking, and sexual activities from sunrise to sunset.
